The Watch House was imagined on the simple premise of creating beautiful and unique spaces for people to enjoy amazing coffee and food.

Each one of our sites is wholly unique and intentionally so; we embrace and engage with the particular characteristics of each community we are in. As we are based in London there is no shortage of stories behind the buildings we select as our Houses. Each one is designed to highlight its specific history but equally to bring it into our contemporary moment and make that atmosphere accessible to anyone who steps in.

The Watch House ethos is at the heart of everything we do. That means, we will always be dedicated to providing the highest quality products in exceptional sites, served to you by the friendliest and most knowledge people around.

Our Coffee

Each one of our sites is wholly unique and intentionally so; we embrace and engage with the particular characteristics of each community we are in. As we are based in London there is no shortage of stories behind the buildings we select as our Houses. Each one is designed to highlight its specific history but equally to bring it into our contemporary moment and make that atmosphere accessible to anyone who steps in.

The Journey

We embarked on our coffee journey* with much the same spirit of ambition and curiosity. Travelling across three continents in the years before we opened The Watch House, we searched high and low for a roast that would surprise and excite the palettes of our customers back home.

*Our founder and MD Roland Horne, embarked on his coffee journey firstly in London learning about the finer elements that the UK had to offer. From that basis he travelled throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America learning, refining and developing what he wanted The Watch House coffee experience to be. It is this well bodied, perfectly balanced, chocolately, smooth espresso experience that led to the cult following we have developed over the years.

Espresso

We source our coffee from the best in the field; our fantastic roasting partners at Ozone London provide us with the intensely flavourful EMPIRE blend. This signature blend is adjusted throughout the year to make best use of crop availability so we are always using the freshest beans. Packed with a sweet caramel punch complimented by hints of orange, nougat and chocolate this espresso blend makes for a smooth, silky and rich cup coffee every time. It is our oldest and trustiest coffee.

Filter

Our Brew Bar runs daily from 3 – 6pm at The Watch House, Bermondsey Street. What is a brew bar you ask? We essentially use a number of very aesthetically pleasing filters, glasses and vials to individually brew you a fresh cup of one of our fabulous single origin filters. It is our little give back to the community, coffee education and a relaxed experience in the late afternoon.
